Nuns travel to London to join the festivities

Three local men travelled to the Royal Wedding on Friday to celebrate the marriage of William and Kate, but chose an odd attire to attend in.

Tom Murphy, Robert Gisby and Matthew Robson ventured to the capital dressed as nuns on the 5.25AM train from Canterbury West to St Pancreas and raised the odd eyebrow as they traversed the city streets.

The three men made their way on the underground to Trafalgar Square to join the thousands gathered round big screens on what was a day to remember.

Tom Murphy said: "It was absolutely brilliant. We decided that night to go the event and just happened to come across a group wearing these nun costumes.

"We told them what we were panning to do and they offered us the outfits. We had so many strange looks all over the place, from the train, the streets and even in Trafalgar Square.

"We definitely had the strangest dress, although there were people in suits of armour and weird clothing. Loads of people stopped and stared, took pictures of us and we even appeared on the live coverage of the event."
